my third eye, saw young potes act like pros and read more than once and sign books like fame is what they ate for breakfast. I saw parents and business owners and writers and reporters witness the first of many Hastings poetry readings from writers that give me inspiration to, as a grown man try harder each day to be myself and be more like Zach,Jameka,Kaneshia,Ranesha and Jaunte. Heroes born after me that I'll look up too always. I hope Joey grows up to be anywhere near as cool kids as ya'll. mr.mike
Check out these poetry blogs by Flagler College student teachers as they teach at the REC Teen Center, the middle schoolers, and second to fifth graders at the OUR Center.
This blog features poetry from fourth and fifth graders in Hastings, Fla. These students participate twice a week in Word Play, an arts-enrichment class at the O.U.R. 21st Century Community Learning Center, taught by Kim Bradley. This Communities in Schools project has partnered with many organizations including the Jacksonville Jaguars Foundation, and the St. Johns County Recreation Department to offer arts based enrichment classes to k-5th grade South Woods Elementary students and their parents.
